trk - Privacy Policy
trk is a small, self-hosted community forum. We collect as little as possible and do not track you across the web. This explains what we store, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account details - the username and email you provide at registration, plus a securely hashed password. Email is used only for account actions (such as password resets) and administrator contact.
- Content you post - topics, replies, and any profile information you choose to add. This is visible to logged-in members.
- Technical data - your IP address and browser user-agent are recorded with your session and posts, used solely to keep accounts secure and to prevent spam and abuse.
- Cookies - a first-party session cookie to keep you logged in, plus optional preference and "remember me" cookies if you opt in.
What we do not do
- No third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking scripts.
- No social-media trackers; fonts and assets are served locally (no Google Fonts), so visiting trk does not leak your visit to outside companies.
- We never sell, rent, or share your data.
Access
The forum is private. Content is visible only after you register and an administrator approves your account. A CAPTCHA blocks automated sign-ups.
Outgoing mail (such as password resets) is delivered through a third-party email relay, which handles the message in transit. We send only what the action requires.
Your data and rights
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can view, export, or request deletion of your personal data through an administrator or the forum's built-in data tools.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
Contact and changes
Questions about your data? Contact the board administrator. We may update this policy; material changes will be noted on the forum.
